North American Free Trade Agreement
NAFTA promoted free trade between the US, Canada, and Mexico by lowering barriers to trade (tariffs, regulations). Free trade increases globalization and benefits businesses, but US workers can lose jobs to overseas workers.
Japanese Trade Tensions
During the 1990s, the trade disputes between the US and Japan led to tensions between the two countries. The US was concerned about a trade imbalance, because the US was importing more Japanese products than it was exporting to Japan.
Clinton’s Impeachment
After committing perjury (lying under oath) when questioned about his affair with Monica Lewinski, Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives, but NOT removed by the Senate (like Andrew Johnson during Reconstruction).
