Japanese-American Internment
After Pearl Harbor, the US was concerned that Japanese-Americans might spy for Japan. Over 110,000 (most were US citizens) were interned in prison camps. They had to leave everything behind and often lost homes/businesses.
Korematsu v. United States
Korematsu refused to go to the camps and challenged internment in the Supreme Court, but the Court said internment was constitutional. This case is another example of the government limiting civil liberties during wartime.
